Belgrade, September 16 – On the International Day of Democracy, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Partners Global launched the Civil Society Resilience project, co-funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).

This five-year, $9 million dollar USAID project will improve the civil society enabling environment, create space for civil society to participate in public policy processes, bring citizens and civil society together over common issues and foster dialogue between civil society and government. The project is co-financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), which has committed $3 million.

"Civil society cannot succeed alone. Rather, civil society, media, private sector and government must work together on initiatives that are important to the interests of the people," said Brook Isham, USAID Mission Director to Serbia, at the presentation of the project.

Serbia Hosts World’s Leading Apple and Pear Industry Event

USAID Allocated Grant Funds for the Modernization of the Sombor Heating Plant

Belgrade, August 2, 2022 – As a part of the "Better Energy" Activity, financed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the first grant agreement was signed today in Sombor with PUC Energana Sombor. 

The memorandum on the allocation of grant was signed by the Chief of Party of the "Better Energy" Activity, Daniel Berg, and the Director of PUC Energana, Djuradj Milanovic.

.S. Adds $19.5 Million in New Funds to Development Partnership with Serbia

Belgrade, May 20, 2022 – Today, the United States Government announced an additional $19.5 million in assistance to the Government of Serbia, as part of amendments to existing assistance agreements. These funds will be used to, among others, help Serbia make the economy more competitive and inclusive, improve the public procurement process, strengthen the health information system, promote a stronger media environment, improve energy efficiency and biodiversity conservation.

USAID and SIDA Launch Media Innovation project

United States Donates Equipment  for Safe Disposal of Medical Waste to Batut

Belgrade, April 27, 2022 – Today, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the United Nations Development Programme delivered new equipment for the proper disposal of medical waste to the "Dr Milan Jovanovic Batut" Public Health Institute. The $150,000 donation includes an autoclave and a shredder - for sterilization and grinding of medical equipment and infectious medical waste that will ensure that the increased amount of toxic medical waste generated by the pandemic will be disposed of in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.
